Two phone calls came into the Portland 911 switchboard recently within seconds of each other....both from the same home....both reporting the same thing: "A strange man in the home". Problem is, they were talking about EACH OTHER!
An Intruder had broken into a home on Monday night and was surprised when the Homeowner returned and, accompanied by his two German Shepherds, asked him what he was doing there. The Intruder locked himself in a bathroom and phoned the police - stating he was afraid the Homeowner had a gun.
The Homeowner called 911 to report the break-in as well.
