Divers in Marion County, FL were given the task of searching a lake for the cremated remains of a man and two dogs stolen from a home. The robbery occurred in December in a home in Silver Springs. The thieves took jewelry, electronics and the ashes of the homeowner's Father and two Great Danes.
The police received an anonymous call (believed to be from one of the robbers) who said they inadvertently snorted some of the ashes thinking they were cocaine or heroine. They soon discovered their error and wanted to return the urns but were "discouraged by a man" to do so because of fingerprints. Police believed the ashes to be in one of the robber's attic, but upon further investigation, found that they had probably been tossed in a nearby lake.
Five Juveniles have been arrested and the divers were able to locate the remains in the lake.
That wasn't the wait/what segment though -
When the search for missing items was logged by the officer, it is mentioned that the Dogs ashes were removed from the homeowner's bedroom shelf.....while her Father's remains were missing from her CLOSET.
