An East Boston woman was approached at the airport in Mexico and was offered $300 (US) to bring a suitcase full of presents back to the states. She was told that a family member named Juan would find her at the Boston Airport and retrieve the gifts from her.
Passengers began to complain shortly after take off about a foul odor emitting from the suitcase. The woman (now referred to as 'the accused') opened the suitcase to find 20 soiled diapers...and 12 one pound bags of pure cocaine wrapped inside.
The 'accused' said she had no idea she was being used as a mule.
Yes, if I were approached in Mexico by a stranger with a stinky suitcase and paid $300 cash to take it into the U.S. to meet Juan, I too, would be shocked and surprised.
